As you read, look for examples of figurative language in your reading.  Look at the list to the right and identify two examples for your reading.

Write about the use of figurative language in your book.  How does it help your understanding of the plot or the characters?

This book has a bunch of onomatopoeia espically in the pictures. For example in page 65, there's a pic of him hopping with the sound effect,"hop."

title:The wizard's wand
Author:Geronimo Stilton
In the story when Geronimo saw thirteen unicorns pulling a carriage he said "Had cheese slipped of my cracker?" I think it was a metaphor that meant that he was losing his mind or seeing things.

Title: IMPOSTERS
Author: Scott Westerfeld
The book has a simile: Anatomy classes spill like fire through my head. This helps me understand how much it hurts.
The book has a onomatopoeia it says that "sand filters down whenever a boom sounds outside." This helps me understand the text more because it show how unstable the houses are.
